The group, led by Wyboston Lakes operations director Barry Stonham, general manager Alasdair Swan; executive chef, Fergus Martin; senior operations manager, Dean Hall; duty manager, Paul Rhodes; sous chef, Steve Nash; demi chef, Gareth Sandelance and food and beverage employees Vicente Roig and Ricardo Byatt, began the pull that saw the 12-tonne fire engine move along a four-mile route starting at the Robinson Executive Conference Centre and finishing at the Cambridgeshire Hunter in Eynesbury.

The event now in its 5th year, raised in excess of £9,500 for the Burned Children's Club, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting young burn survivors and their families. The proceedings will be used towards a World Burned Children’s Jamboree taking place in August, where burned children aged 8 to 18 from all around the world take on new challenges and enjoy themselves in the company of other burn survivors. The event is taking place in the UK for a week with a final gala evening to be held at Wyboston Lakes.

Barry commented: "It was hard work but great fun, and well worth doing for such a very good cause. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to what turned out to be a successful event".
