COMPUTERLINKS, the next generation distributor of IT security and Internet technology solutions, has today announced that its ALVEA Business Internet Continuity Service is now live and available for its channel partners to resell in the UK. The service is delivered using Avanti Communication’s HYLAS 1 satellite, which was launched into space in November 2010 and has been undergoing rigorous testing over the past five months. COMPUTERLINKS is the first global IT distributor to provide an alternative to a physical solution and has designed the service to enable the channel to provide clients with emergency Internet access in the event of standard links being severed or disabled.

Alongside ALVEA Business Internet Continuity, COMPUTERLINKS has today also announced the launch of its hosted ALVEA Anti-Virus (AV) Solution. This service combines lightweight agents and cloud technology to provide a hosted AV service for the channel, backed by industry-leading technology from Trend Micro.
