Modelling Is A Serious Business At Models Direct

Modelling is not just about beautiful clothing and the model lifestyle. Models also often have the opportunity to play a part in more serious ventures. This is true for both the high fashion and commercial areas of the modelling industry.

For example, when Merseyside-based communications and marketing company Ice Creates turned to Models Direct commercial agency, models were needed to take part in a photoshoot from which the images would be used in campaigns to help raise awareness of the issue of mental health.

The models were selected to feature in an important mental health campaign for the NHS. Ice Creates were looking for a varied mix of nine models who would reflect the British public, playing roles including a father and son, husband and wife, labourer, office worker and some other general looks.

Models Direct coordinators didn’t have much time to find the suitable models for the assignment but luckily they are used to working under pressure. After the selection of models was sent to Ice Creates the models were soon sorted into first choice and standby models for the assignment.

Over the two assignments, the client used eight locations in the north-east of England, including a football club, an art gallery and a shopping centre.

This thought-provoking assignment was the first modelling experience for all of the models and although some were slightly nervous before the photoshoot they all enjoyed it. The models’ ages ranged from twenty to sixty-two, showing modelling can be a great experience at any age!

"This was my first assignment so I was a bit nervous and didn’t know what to expect at the beginning," model Hang told Models Direct. "But the people who worked together were really kind and friendly and made me relaxed. I enjoyed every single moment of it."

"I enjoyed the experience and the support I received to gain knowledge and a professional attitude," another model, Gary, reported after the assignment. "It felt excellent and not as daunting as first thought."
