The key customers needed to economise due to their weak financial state; therefore volume sales of AFH products declined slightly in 2012, in all product areas except AFH toilet paper and AFH wipers.

Most manufacturers of retail tissue and hygiene products also offer AFH products. Thus the leading players tend to be the same in the retail and institutional channels. The top player in value sales terms is the domestic company Forest Papir, thanks to good quality products and affordable prices. Forest Papir has the longest history in producing away-from-home products in Hungary. The company continuously improves its AFH products and offers a wide range of standard quality AFH goods to fulfil most of the needs of customers.

The finances of hospitals and public institutions are not expected to improve much over the forecast period, while the incomes of horeca operators are predicted to recover slowly.
