Toolbox introduce Camping and Travel sections on its E-Commerce website.

Toolbox has announced today the addition of a [Camping & Travel] section to its ever expanding power tools and hand tools website. The new group consists of a wide range of camping and travel products from camping stoves to tents.

The majority of the new products in this section are by the tools giant Draper, who not only have an incredible reputation for quality and reliability, but also carry an incredible amount of stock in the UK meaning that for most items, even if they are not in stock are only 24-48 hours away from the customers. [Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager of Toolbox] Said:

"We have wanted to venture out into new markets for a while, and with our new mass upload of Draper products over the past few months, we felt it was now time to get our toes wet. The spend in the Camping and Travel industry in the UK has nearly doubled over the last year or so, mainly due to the recession and people choosing to spend less on holidays, but still actually wanting a holiday. We always listen to our customers requests and a lot of people were leaving comments suggesting we expand our ‘leisure’ groups on the website, so that is just what we have done"

Toolbox have been doing some studies and according to a leading travel industry expert, domestic camping holidays are becoming more and more popular. Latest research figures have shown an amazing 27% rise in the number of advance bookings at campsites in and around the UK.

So why is it that camping holidays are becoming more popular? Well, firstly this type of holiday is not only greener but it involves a lot of self planning and preparation. Supplies, which consist of mainly food and essential camping equipment is provided by the campers themselves thus cutting down on reservation and booking fee costs.

A Toolbox customer survey has also revealed that over a third of all UK adults are considering either a camping or caravanning holiday this year. Perhaps it is true to say that an increase in low cost holidays has been sparked off by the current effects of the recession. [Lee Taylor, General Manager of Toolbox] Said:

"Consumer perceptions of a domestic holiday in the UK countryside have changed. Package tours although still relatively cheap are in fact fluctuating in price due to increased fuel costs and therefore higher flights prices. It would appear that Brits are now changing their attitude towards an outdoor adventure and using the low cost budget thought process to allow them to at the same time ‘get back in touch with nature’. We at Toolbox are all up for helping those customers even more with excellent savings on all our new Camping and Travel ranges"

Toolbox also stock a massive range of [power tools] and [hand tools] supplied by all the major brands including, DeWalt, Silverline, Bosch, Makita, Hitachi and Draper.

Toolbox is based in Evesham, Worcestershire and now employs 50 staff within their 2,000 sqm, purpose built warehouse and offices. The sister company Plumbworld had a turnover in 2008 in excess of £18 Million. Plumbworld was established in 1999 and was sold to The Grafton Group Plc in December 2006.
