“I learned today that agencies need a wide selection of types and ages” Says Jacky After Models Dire

When design company This Is Deep turned to modelling agency Models Direct on behalf of their client Aviva, they weren’t looking for the stereotypical model. They needed three mature models to take part in a day’s photoshoot to feature in upcoming publicity materials.

Gill from This Is Deep was looking for models around retirement age for the photoshoot, which took place around Cambridge town centre. The lucky models chosen were 58-year-old Lorraine and 59-year-olds Jacky and Kevin.

The models enjoyed their day in Cambridge being photographed eating in restaurants, walking by the river, punting and taking part in other activities around the beautiful town. Lorraine, Jacky and Kevin all enjoyed their day of modelling and commented on how friendly the creative team were. It was also a nice reunion for Kevin and Lorraine, who had worked together on a previous Models Direct assignment.

"The assignment was fantastic," Jacky informed Models Direct. "My fellow models were lovely company and conversation flowed easily. The photographers were very easy to work for, and with, and were appreciative." The mature model felt the only negative part of the photoshoot was having to walk so far and said that if she had known she would have worn more comfortable shoes!

After taking part in the assignment, Models Direct asked Jacky what she would say to someone thinking of taking up commercial modelling, either as a well-paid hobby or maybe a professional career.

"If they were suitable and keen I would encourage them to apply to agencies for selection," Jacky responded. "I learned today that agencies need a wide selection of types and ages, and the models I met today enjoyed all their assignments. Clients’ demands are reasonable and certainly today was lovely."

Lorraine also had some positive feedback from the assignment with Models Direct. "I had a lovely day," she confirmed. "They were very nice to work with." What would Lorraine say to someone considering putting in an application to Models Direct? "Go for it! It’s a good way of meeting people and getting paid for enjoying yourself."
