[UKPRwire, Tue Aug 25 2009] eFinancialCareers.com, the leading global careers site for financial professionals, is pleased to announce its upcoming student Investment Challenge, sponsored by Credit Suisse.
Undergraduate students can register online at www.efinancialcareers.com/cschallenge from 24 August 2009 for their chance to win top prizes, including the opportunity to interview with Credit Suisse for a place in the Spring Program or an internship.
The Investment Challenge is an online trading game that gives undergraduates the chance to test their market skills against their fellow students from universities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Starting 1 September 2009, each student trader will receive a £10,000,000 fantasy fund to use over eight weeks for US stocks and mutual funds trading on the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX Exchanges as well as European equities trading on the London, Frankfurt, Madrid and Euronext Exchanges. Challenge participants must make a minimum of 10 trades during the competition but not more than 200.
Credit Suisse will announce the top five students in two separate categories: those graduating in 2011 and those graduating in 2012. The top three winners from the 2011 graduates category will earn the opportunity to interview for an internship with Credit Suisse, whilst the top three from the 2012 graduates category will interview for the Spring Program. Additionally, each of the top five students in both categories will receive an iPod Touch, Nano or Shuffle.
John Benson, founder and CEO of eFinancialCareers.com, said:
“We recently surveyed graduates across Europe and only 20% of students in the UK, 16% in France and 11% in Italy had secured jobs in the financial sector before graduating¹. It’s opportunities like the Credit Suisse Investment Challenge that can help students get ahead of the competition. Not only can students engage in a realistic trading simulation, they can also potentially secure an interview for a highly coveted internship – something that can often be a foot in the door for a future job.”
Registration for the Credit Suisse Investment Challenge opens 24 August 2009 and closes 23 October 2009. The Investment Challenge begins at 1500 (GMT) on 1 September 2009 and closes at 1700 (GMT) 30 October 2009.
