Tutors International has announced that they are offering a solution to parents that have been disappointed in the recent round of school place allocations carried out by local education authorities. Whilst Tutors International specialises in the provision of long-term full-time private tuition, it has decided to offer shorter term contracts, such as for one academic year, to families disappointed by their local authority. Tutors International also offers a co-operative contract, in which a group of families can pool resources to engage the services of a tutor to educate a group of children of the same age and studying the same subjects. "We're aware that at this time of year many parents receive bad news regarding the allocation of a school place to their child, and are forced to go through a stressful appeals process or seek alternative arrangements," said Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International. "For many parents who have previously schooled their children privately, but have been unable to continue due to changes in circumstances brought about by the recession, it can be a particularly frustrating and upsetting process. That's why we're offering an alternative solution to these families, for whom the hiring of a private tutor will be more cost effective than putting several children through private school, yet will provide a better educational experience than being taught in a large group at the local state-run school."

"For families that have only one child and cannot afford a full-time private tutor, we are offering a co-operative contract, in which several families can club together and have their children educated in a small group together," Adam explained. "The quality of the education is still significantly higher than an average school environment, and will be cheaper than private schooling." When asked for an example of potential costs, Adam replied: "In an arrangement of this type with 8 children involved, the annual fees to Tutors International would be 80,000-120,000 a year, with each family only spending 10,000-15,000 per child which is less than most private school fees. The beauty of this co-operative arrangement, or a short-term contract for a family alone," Adam concluded, "is that the education of the child doesn't suffer whilst they remain on the waiting list for their preferred school, and the child will be able to resume their education in the school setting after having any weak areas addressed by the private tuition."
