Workshop by Amity School of Fashion Technology, Lucknow

Amity school of fashion technology organized a workshop on Fashion Styling and Make-Up Techniques, under the able guidance of Prof. Pooja Verma Director ASFT, coordinated by Ms. Lali Priya (Assistant Professor-II) and Ms. Mridula S. Mehrotra, (Asst. Prof.) The workshop conducted by Ms Deepika Kumar, Associate Prof. NIFT and Mr. Akhilendra Sonker, Styling Expert & Asst. Prof. NIFT Rai Bareli in phased manner. The workshop aimed at providing students with a good platform where they could learn different methodologies of contemporary Fashion styling.
A comprehensive 3 day session enriched the student’s passion for creativity and style while providing them with imagery and visual ideas. The students participating in the workshop learnt how to reinvent, define and recognize image for a particular garment, product or brand.
In this workshop, students were comprehensively briefed about the fundamental elements of modern fashion, trends, season and styling, leading them to work on mood boards and inspirations. The second session included activities with focus on the designing of boards based on elements of styling. Next session included an analysis of the boards made a day before. Certain topics were given to students a day before on which they created looks. The activity went on with the actual transfer of the looks to live project.
On the final day, each and every participant was given certain topics to style the full look right from the dress to accessories to footwear and make up. The experts guided the students with different instant techniques such as button masala, the locking up and mish mash etc. to render a completely new diva style with the same set of garment.
The workshop helped students in their self-grooming, advancement towards Industry Readiness and full focus towards the latest trends. The participants learnt well how to create an immediately identifiable and recognizable style for producing live fashion photo shoots and their editing, choices and still life in make-up, hair and accessories etc.
The participants were also encouraged to decode stereotypes and to contemplate well over the positioning of image from a different perspective for discovering and exploring their own unique personal style in whatever they do.
