– Delhi hosts exhibition focuses on current developments to renewable energy from 5

Being held from 5th to 7th May, Renewable Energy World India 2011 will consist of India’s major energy suppliers as well as representatives from overseas markets who are due to be displaying cutting edge advancements to systems. Exhibitors will cover all areas of renewable energy from wind and solar power to bio and geothermal energy.

India’s target is to become the world’s leading provider of clean energy and it is aiming to achieve this through a solar powered project at a cost of $19 billion, which will lead to 20,000 MW being produced by 2020. Programmes are also being implemented to increase the output by wind energy with a potential of 65,000 MW coming from wind alone.

Visitors can also attend two other shows that will be running at the same time as the event which are POWER-GEN India and Central Asia and HydroVision India. Both fixtures will feature details on producing energy more efficiently without damaging the environment and are set to attract key members from the industry.

Such is the significance of the events that approximately 6,000 visitors are due over the three days and with 190 exhibiting companies, Delhi hotels are will be inundated with guests.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: "Finding hotels near Pragati Maidan where the expos are being held is going to become increasingly difficult as the events draw closer. Visitors should confirm early to secure the locations."
