If the darker winter evenings are making you feel a little gloomy don’t despair! Models Direct have summarised a few of the make up looks that are set you brighten up the colder months, just for you.
Red
Red lipstick never seems to go out of fashion, and with some of the retro looks that have recently become current again it seems that there has never been a better time to find the right shade for you. If you are unsure of which type of red will suit you best Models Direct would suggest popping along to your nearest department store and asking advice from somebody in the makeup department before you buy.
It seems that any shade of red is on trend right now. Our favourite way to wear it is as a lip stain, which are available in many ranges. Try them! They last for ages and look fab.
Red is not just for the lips anymore, if you dare why not try some of the bold red eye shadows that have been seen on the catwalk? Look to Christian Dior for inspiration.
Orange
While orange toned shades are still being seen on some celebritiies we would advise that you only opt for this colour if you have very white teeth, as orange based lip colours will highlight any yellowing or staining.
Brights to match your clothing
For many of us pillar box red lipstick is about as daring as it gets, but if you have the confidence and love to get noticed you may dare to try the coming trend of matching your eye or lip colour to your dress! This look was recently seen in spring collections from designers such as Alexandre Herchcovitch, where models wore bright green and blue lipsticks with confidence. It is not for the faint hearted but we are set to see more of this bold colour play as we head into spring. Why not give brights a nod with one of the latest green nail varnish hues?
Pastels & Neutrals
If bright colours are not for you don’t worry, there are plenty of more feminine options to choose from this season. Bring out your inner princess with soft pinks and lavenders and tone down the tan to enhance a more ivory complexion, giving a romantic and delicate finish. Neutral tones can offer a subtle and more natural look for those who prefer it. Models Direct love these options with a little highlighter or vaseline on the cheek bone which gives the skin a dewy glow.
