Models Direct's Colour Trends for Autumn 2010

Fashion followers everywhere will all be beginning to incorporate trends from the autumn/winter fashion shows into their wardrobes as we quickly approach the colder months. Trends don’t just include shapes, styles and shapes, they also include colours. Here, modelling agency Models Direct introduce the colours you should be wearing this autumn.

Black.

Models Direct are aware that black is not a new colour trend, flattering black will always be a long-standing staple colour in every person’s wardrobes. However, this autumn expand from black and add tones of grey into your outfits. If you’re opting for an all black outfit you should also make more of a statement by varying the textures of material that you’re wearing. These could include velvet, lace, leather, faux fur, metallics and embellishments including sequins or beads.

On trend makeup: Models Direct love smoky eyes and know the key to a great look is to blend makeup well. Rather than just sticking to black eyeliner, use a lighter charcoal shade as well, especially on the lower lid, for the perfect look.

Camel.

‘Nude’ and pastel shades have been a popular colour trend throughout the summer months, but come autumn you will want to veer more towards camel. Although camel is a colour that could be considered a bit dull it can look very classy, especially for tailored jackets, trousers and knits. You could also consider similar colours including mink, mushroom and khaki. Whatever shade you choose, these classic colours look like they will continue for some time.

On trend makeup: Another popular makeup trend is to look like you’re not actually wearing any makeup. Neutral, camel shades of eyeshadow are great for achieving a subtle, natural look.

Berry.

Take inspiration from your favourite summer fruits and invest in warm, deep shades of purple, blue and red are a popular colour choice for autumn, and one that Models Direct believes can look great when used to brighten up the first two autumn colour trends. You just have to decide which berry shade suits you best!

On trend makeup: If you feel berry shades are a bit too bright for you, you can always introduce it into your wardrobe by choosing berry shades of nail varnish.
