European Plastics Recycling Experts to Meet in Brussels as Exhibition Sells Out

More than 65 companies and organisations will showcase the latest advances in European plastics recycling at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2015 exhibition and conference taking place on 25th and 26th November at the Tour & Taxis venue in Brussels. Such has been the popularity of the event that exhibition space has sold out. The Plastics Recycling Show 2015 brings together key players from the plastics and recycling sectors to showcase innovative technology, share best practice, network and do business. A broad cross section of the industry will be represented at the event including plastics recycling machinery and equipment suppliers, plastic material suppliers and compounders, pre-processors, plastics recyclers, waste management specialists and industry associations. Volvo, Ikea, Lidl, Procter & Gamble, Mars Petcare, Total and ExxonMobil are among the many major companies sending delegates to the exhibition and conference.

Exhibitor highlights
Buhler Sortex (stand B14) will be highlighting its recent agreement with National Recovery Technologies (NRT) to offer plastics recyclers a complete solution for plastic bottle and flake sorting.

Europe’s largest polythene film recycler, BPI Recycled Products (stand A38) will be promoting its ability to recycle up to 95,000 tonnes of polythene waste a year, turning waste material into second life products such as outdoor furniture, landscaping products, building films and refuse sacks.

Hellweg Maschinenbau (stand C47) launches the latest addition to its 600 series granulator range, the new M 1500/600, which combines high performance with gentle treatment of materials.

Herbold Meckesheim (stand C41) will be showcasing its plastics washing equipment for all types of contaminated and mixed plastics, such as PET bottles, agricultural or post-consumer film and HDPE/PP packages

KraussMaffei Berstorff (stand B19) will showcase its Edelweiss technology. Developed jointly with Artec, it provides an ideal solution for directly converting plastic scraps into high-quality compounds.

WEIMA Maschinenbau (stand A39) will present its new WLK 1000 single-shaft shredder featuring a hydraulic drive. The unit is suitable for shredding thermoplastics, such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, PU and PET, as well as diverse types of duroplastic and elastomer.

The unique challenges of recycling the major different types of plastic including PET, PVC, HDPE, LDPE and mixed plastics will be discussed in detail at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe conference. Keynote sessions on the conference’s opening day include David Ingram, Director (Fabric & HomeCare Packaging R&D), Procter & Gamble on Sustainable packaging – introducing PCR for Fabric Care bottles and Jonas Bystrom, Senior Engineer at the European Investment Bank on Financing recycling in a circular economy.

Sessions on day two of the conference focus on the plastics recycling process and the latest design, technology and innovation. Topics covered will include finding markets for recycled materials, coping with price volatility in the virgin market, regulatory issues and the future for producer responsibility schemes.

Industry body Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) is strongly supporting the exhibition and is organising the conference in conjunction with Plastics Recycling Show Europe organisers Crain Communications. The event is organised in association with Polymer Comply Europe, a service provider for the plastics industry specialised in EU legislation.
