National Barista Award winners from Worcester and Nottingham

The awards were presented at Cafe2U’s National Leadership Conference in Leeds after competing with more than 50 other Franchise Partners for this prestigious award.

Paul, a 32 year old who runs his mobile espresso coffee van in Worcester impressed Cafe2U throughout the course of the year with his dedication to providing his customers with the very best in gourmet espresso coffee. Mr Abernethy said, "I am absolutely delighted to receive this recognition. I have worked very hard to develop my barista skills and my business has always been about serving excellent coffee. I’m very proud to bring this award back for my customers in Worcester."

Tom Acland Managing Director of Cafe2U explains, "We have a nomination process for the awards, we then discuss and score each attribute, in conjunction with a criteria that we ‘mark’ in secret during visits throughout the year. Paul and Nick won because they consistently demonstrated all the attributes required, making some of the best coffee we have tasted".

Nick, Cafe2U Nottingham West, explains why it was so important to win, "This is a tough award to win, competition is high and it is a great tribute to my customers in Nottingham, without whom I couldn’t operate my business, and it is their feedback and desire to drink great coffee that pushes me on to try harder."

He added, ‘Great coffee makes a difference, and creates immense loyalty. My customers base their working day around my arrival, and I think that is Brilliant! I have now set a benchmark for my business that I intend to maintain."
