West Sussex Hospitals Charity and St Richards are organising the Hearts, Flowers and Memories Annual Charity Walk with the proceeds going to buy specialist equipment for the hospitals. At the start of the walk people taking part will be given a flower heart to plant in a specially created copse in Stansted Park to benefit the countryside. The flowers are also meant to act as a sign of remembrance to people who have passed away or those in the armed forces.

People can choose from two walks, the first one is a distance of two miles while the other is a slightly longer three and half miles, all set in the house’s private grounds. Visitors can also have a tour of the house if they’d like to, but charges will apply with entry £7 for adults and £3.50 for children. Entry to take part in the actual walk is £10 per head for adults and children under 16 are £5 each, with all the money going to the charity.

Anyone making their way from a Stansted Airport hotel will need to get to the house for 9:30 on 8th May 2011.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: "Keen walkers will be turning up to help with this good cause and this will mean that more people will be looking for accommodation and availability is likely to be reduced."
