The comprehensive guide produces a real time output of the scores from the five star system of reviews added in the past 12 months, giving a clear picture of what’s good and bad in the UK Cruise industry. For a company or ship to be included, there must be at least 100 reviews for the Best Cruise Line category and 50 reviews for the Ship categories.

Each visitor, who may not have booked with www.cruise.co.uk, that completes an independent review is asked to score their onboard experience of the ship and operator across nine different categories as part of the process, including Best Ship, Best Cruise Line, Best Accommodation, Best Entertainment, Best Food, Best Service, Best for Kids, Best for Activities and Best Shore Excursions. Each category is rated from one to five stars – the resulting average scores are continually updated as new reviews are added, showing the current top performers. In return for each review completed, visitors receive a free copy of BERLITZ Guide to Cruising.

Seamus Conlon, Managing Director of www.Cruise.co.uk said: “Since we first published the UK Cruise Passenger Ratings in January this year, the site has continued to grow and develop. We encourage our own customers to complete reviews when they return from their holiday but have also seen a significant rise in customers who may have booked direct with the cruise line or on the high street. Above all we feel that the reviews are honest and fair, showing potential passengers what the cruise lines and their ships are really like. Some cruise lines have moved down compared to last year; some factors quoted in reviews being high drink prices and cruise lines charging for many other activities and services.

“Congratulations to Cunard Line who have maintained their position as the Best Cruise Line and moved up to first place with Queen Mary 2 as the best cruise ship. Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Independence of the Seas continues to dominate the market for families and those looking for lots of onboard activities. We also welcome Thomson’s Ships, Spirit and Celebration who have moved up in several categories and are now top in food, entertainment and services, as well as the lesser known Marco Polo from TransOcean Tours who has come top in Shore Excursions.

“We welcome all contributions to the web site and are proud of the position we now hold as one of the top travel web sites in the UK. Our aim over the coming months is to continue to grow our user based audience and have recently introduced a forum facility where visitors can interact with each other, sharing experiences and even arranging onboard parties!

“As we move into the winter, we expect the site to continue to grow in popularity as more guests post multiple reviews –as they come back from more than one cruise a year. Our visitors like to express their opinions and value the feedback and questions they get from others in our cruising community. “
