DialAFlight hails Thailand’s crowning success

DialAFlight, one of the UK’s leading travel operators, has congratulated the Thailand Tourism Board on its recent success at this year’s World Travel Awards.

The country managed to scoop eighteen awards in total, the highest it has ever amassed during one ceremony. This year’s event was held at the Dusit Thani hotel in Bangkok- one of the top Hotels in Thailand.

The event is said to have had a profound effect on the travel industry since its creation back in 1993, influencing customer choice and increasing much needed competition within the sector. Plaudits from the world’s media have certainly helped increase the awards prestige- the Wall Street Journal once hailed the awards ‘the travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars’.

Every year more than 5,000 travel companies, destinations and organisations are nominated for awards in various categorisations, based solely on customer service experiences. This year, over 213,000 industry experts participated in voting, differentiating between various organisations and well known brands, including the world’s top airline carriers.

Despite Thailand’s impressive eighteen award haul, celebrations have somewhat been marred by recent torrential floods, which continue to ravage large parts of the country.

Commenting on Thailand’s success at this year’s award ceremony a DialAFlight spokesman said:
