This special event held by the Galapagos Conservation Trust, in partnership with Steppes Travel was attended by members of the Galapagos Conservation Trust, and guests. The key speakers of the evening were Sir David Attenborough, Andrew Marr as president of the Galapagos Conservation Trust and Galapagos-born Felipe Cruz, director of technical assistance at the Charles Darwin Foundation. Andrew Marr chaired the discussion with audience questions and everyone attended said that the evening was a fantastic success.

It was also the final leg of the journey of the "On the Origin of Species", the special 5th edition auctioned to raise funds, ending a remarkable year. With Sir David Attenborough attending Steppes were honoured to take part in this Gala evening to raise both money and the profile of the Galapagos archipelago. Possibly one of the highlights was the auction of "On the Origin of Species"which Steppes are delighted to announce raised an astonishing 21,000 pounds for the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
