Babies Reading Before They Can Talk...?

‘Your Baby Can Read!’ is a programme which uses associations to get babies reading. It shows what the word looks like; it lets the baby hear the sounds of the word and it also shows a picture of the word in action. So using the senses of sight and sound, the child is being entertained by seeing all the pieces come together.

Membership rockets for eLearning Network CIC

After more than 20 years as an unincorporated association with around 150 members, the eLearning Network (eLN) - a non-profit organisation run by the e-learning community for the e-learning community – is beginning its first full year as a community interest company (CIC). In its last year as an unincorporated body and with a new membership structure including free associate membership, the eLN saw its membership rise tenfold and, now that it is a CIC, its membership stands at over 2,000.

New MathType 6.6 brings maths support to over 350 applications and websites

Design Science’s (Long Beach, California) new version of MathType™ 6.6 for Windows has been added to Adept Scientific’s (Letchworth, Herts) product range. This latest version includes support for Windows 7’s handwriting recognition feature as well as extending its support to over 350 applications and websites in areas such as education, elearning, calculation, word processing, presentations, emails, blogs and wikis. Among the newly supported applications and websites are Google Docs, Gmail, Blackboard and many others.
